Samuel Augustus Mitchell, c1867, Vermont and New Hampshire. Handsome in full hand color, about 13 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches. Decorative floral border, surrounds a handsome map showing counties, rivers, mountains, cities, and rail. Mitchell's maps from this series are some of the more attractive maps from this period, this map is enhanced with a decorative "garland" of flowers which provides a handsome border, making this an especially attractive map. Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different decorative border to the one pictured. $125
Samuel Augustus Mitchell, c. 1875, Map of Connecticut, Rhode Island,
Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. Hand colored, about 10 1/2 by 8
inches. An attractive small state map of the north east. This map also includes names of
rivers, rail lines, roads, mountains, cities and towns. This map was
originally from a school atlas from the period. Different editions of the
identical map may have a slightly different coloring. $35
George Cram, 1884-1899, New Hampshire and Vermont. Printed color by county, about 13 by 9 inches. Detailed map of New Hampshire and Vermont showing towns, cities, rails, rivers and other geographical features. Family atlases by Cram were very popular in the late 1800's with the American family. Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different coloring to the one pictured. $35
Rand McNally, c. 1900, Vermont. Printed color with each county
separately colored. About 12 1/2 by 9 inches. An attractive county map of
Vermont. An index table (not shown in the picture) is included in the left and right
margin. The map shows landforms, rivers, cities, towns, roads and rivers. The
extensive rail system is still the major method of transportation as no evidence of roads
is to be seen. The technology used to develop this map was
so advanced that it made all other similar maps obsolete. $25

Matthew Northrup's Century Atlas, 1897-1911, Vermont and New Hampshire. Printed color, about 15 by 10 1/2 inches. A very fine "modern" looking map with a "piano key" border. The map depicts landforms, including contours showing elevations above sea level. Includes counties, rail lines, roads, cities and towns. Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different coloring to the one pictured. These are superb maps for accuracy and detail. A map of choice for many collectors. $45
