Joseph Hutchins Colton, 1855, Missouri. Fully colored, about 13 by 15 1/2 inches. A detailed map of Missouri showing countries, cities and towns. Also includes roads, rail lines and landforms. Includes a handsome decorative border. Colton's maps are particularly handsome. The excellence and popularity of Colton's work was such that the maps were widely used and each edition contained the most "contemporary" knowledge available at that time. Colored, about 11 1/2 by 14 inches. Detailed county map showing
landforms, cities, towns, rails including several plans of unfinished rails lines. Also
shows "Indian Territory" below Kansas on the left. Mitchell's maps are some of the more attractive maps
from this period, this map is enhanced with a decorative "garland" of flowers
which provides a handsome border, making this an especially attractive
map. Different editions of the identical map may have a
slightly different decorative border to the one pictured. Hand

George Cram, c.1884-1899, Missouri. Printed color, about 12 by 18 1/2 inches. Detailed map showing both Michigan and Wisconsin, as well as many of the Great Lakes. Has good detail of towns, cities, rivers and mountains. Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different coloring to the one pictured. Later editions are fully colored. $25
Rand McNally, 1985-1911, Missouri. Printed color with each county differently colored, about 12 1/2 by 9 1/4 inches. A detailed map depicting landforms, counties, rail road lines, cities and towns. No road system is shown as yet. The rail system evidences its importance. Also includes a table (not shown in the picture) on the left and right of the map of land area, counties and chief cities. The technology applied in developing this map was so advanced that it made all similar maps immediately obsolete $25

The map depicts landforms, including contours showing elevations above sea level. Includes counties, rail lines, roads, cities and towns. Also includes insets of Kansas City and St. Louis. These are superb maps for accuracy and detail. A map of choice for many collectors.
