    Samuel Augustus Mitchell, c.1864, County map of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island Hand colored, about 13 by 21 inches. Very detailed showing rails, landforms, rivers, cities, towns and counties. Mitchell's maps from this series are some of the more attractive maps from this period.  This map is enhanced with a handsome border, making this an especially attractive map.   Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different decorative border.  $150

A. J. Johnson, c. 1863, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Hand colored. About 17 by 23 inches. Detailed early State and county (each differently colored) map showing landforms, early settlements and towns, rail and stage routes. Includes a decorative border.       Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different decorative border.   The earlier editions may also include vignettes around the map.     $135

George Cram, 1884-1899, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Printed color by county, about 13 by 9 inches. Detailed map of Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut showing towns, cities, rails, rivers and other geographical features.  Family atlases by George Cram were very popular in the late 1800's with the American family.   Different editions of the identical map may have a slightly different coloring to the one pictured.   $25

    Rand McNally, 1895-1911, Massachusetts. Fully colored, about 9 1/2 by 12 1/4 inches. A detailed county and township map showing rail road lines, cities and towns and topography.    No road system is shown as yet.  The rail system evidences its importance.     An index table (not included in the picture) is in the left and right margin.  The technology used in making this map was so advanced that it made all comparable maps obsolete.  $25

A map of the Island of Martha's Vineyard showing towns, settlements and mountains.  Clipped from a page and mounted on acid free paper to facilitate framing.  Maps of Martha's Vineyard are seldom offered for sale. $65   Seldom available, so we recommend that you place your name on the waiting list for this map.

   Matthew Northrup's Century Atlas, 1897-1911, Massachusetts. Printed color, about 10 1/2 by 15 inches. A very fine "modern" looking map with a "piano key" border. The map depicts landforms, including contours showing elevations above sea level. Includes counties, rail lines, roads, cities and towns. These are superb maps for accuracy and detail.  A map of choice for many collectors.  $45

(The map is a uniform green color.   The   line at center of the picture is created from joining two scans)


Dodd Meade and Company, c. 1903, Massachusetts.   Printed color, about 8 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches. A very "modern" looking map with excellent detail. The map depicts landforms and includes counties, rail lines, cities and towns. $15

    Boston, Samuel Augustus Mitchell, c. 1867. Colored, about 11 by 9 1/2 inches.  A very handsome street plan of the central part of the city of Boston, naming streets and important buildings.  The map shows the harbor and the rail lines, and also includes the areas of East Cambridge, Charleston and South Boston. The map also has a smaller inset in the lower right corner of Boston, the harbor and surrounding area.

    Mitchell's maps from this series are some of the more attractive maps from this period, this map is enhanced with a decorative "garland" of flowers which provides a handsome border, making this an especially attractive map. $150 Sold


Boston,  A. J. Johnson, 1870. Fully colored, about 21 1/2 by 17 inches. A nicely detailed street plan showing the entire city, including Cambridge, Somerville, Charlestown, Chelsea, East Boston and South Boston. The map names streets, rails, important buildings, and show the harbor, and indicates the main ship canal. Interestingly shows the "City Car Routes" (Tram routes). Very slight browning at centerfold. Excellent for family research and suitable for framing. $115 Sold
