Thomas Jeffrys, 1750, A map of Peru and Chili. Uncolored, about 6 by 3 1/2 inches. A handsome smaller map showing the western one third part of South America. Extends from just south of Patagonia to Panama. It provides a wonderful view of the region before Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia were established and at a time when this vast region was split between Chile and Peru. Other areas such as Quito (present day Colombia), Lima (not the city but as a region in Peru), Cujo (within Chile) and Tucumans (western part of north central present day Argentina) are indicated. Shows landforms rivers, and settlements, the latter particularly along the coastal area. An interesting early map. $75
Samuel Augustus Mitchell, 1869, Peru and Equador. Fully hand colored, about 7 by 4 1/2 inches. A provincial map of Peru and Ecuador with excellent detail of cities, towns and landforms. Attractive with bright colors. $35
(Originally one of several maps on a single sheet. Clipped from the sheet and margins added to allow for framing)
