Nicolas Jacques Bellin, 1750, St. Salvador. Uncolored, about 7 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches. The map is divided into two parts.  The top third of the page displays a handsome panoramic view of the city looking in from the sea.  Ships in the bay, and individual portrayal of each structure make this a fine and crisp view.   The lower part consists of a detailed plan of the fortified city. Two tables locate important site and buildings in the panoramic view and the city plan. $95

Includes a decorative  compass.   A city plan of Vera Cruz, showing detail such as the city walls and individual important buildings,  is on the map together with topographical features.  A numbered key provides detail about each building i.e, cathedral, palace, etc.   A handsome map with a "piano key" border.   Nice detail. $95


Thomas Jeffreys, 1750, Plan of the Road and Court of La Vera Cruz. Uncolored, about 8 by 12 1/4 inches. A chart of the bay area showing depth soundings, shoals and other nautical information. Includes a compass.   A city plan of Vera Cruz is on the map together with topographical features.  The map extends to Pta De Anton Lizardo.  A handsome map. Nice detail. $95

 A. J. Johnson, c.1864, Central America. Original bold hand color, about 12 1/4 by 15 1/4 inches. A handsome map showing the entire Central American region including Panama, the latter as a province of New Granada (present day Colombia).  Five inset maps are included in the early editions: (1) Manzanilla, Aspinwall City Navy Bay,  (2) City of Panama, (3) Isthmus of Panama, (4) Harbor of San Juan De Nicaragua, and (5) The Nicaragua Route (from the Caribbean to the Pacific).  Includes rivers, lakes, oceans, landforms,  cities, towns and a very attractive border. Different editions have slightly different decorative borders.    This is a very attractive map.  $90

   Samuel Augustus Mitchell, c.1864.  Mexico, Central America & the West Indies.. Handsome in full color, about 13 by 21 inches. This is a very handsome map of the lower half of the United States, the Entire Central America and the West Indies.  The map shows rivers, mountains, cities, and railway lines.  The map also includes a large inset of the island of Cuba.       Mitchell's maps from this series are some of the more attractive maps from this period, this map is enhanced with a decorative "garland" of flowers which provides a handsome border, making this an especially attractive map.   Different editions may have a slightly different border.   $115


American School Atlas, 1870 -1894, Central America.  Central America (with Mexico)  Hand color with each country differently colored.  The map is divided in two parts.  The upper half consists of a map of Mexico and the Lower half, a map of Central America and the Caribbean.  About 11 by 8 inches.   Nicely detailed, including rail, cities, towns, and landforms. $25

 


George Cram, c. 1894, San Salvador. Full printed color.  About 4 1/2 by 7 3/4 inches. It is most unusual to find a map of just San Salvador.  Nicely detailed, including rail, cities, towns, and landforms. Originally on a single sheet with several other maps.  Has been clipped from the page and expertly laid on similarly aged paper to provide margins for framing.  $25


George Cram, c. 1894, Central America. Full printed color with each country differently colored.  About 9 3/4 by 12 1/4 inches.  Extends from Guatemala to Panama with a small inset of the lower Guatemala/Yucatan border region.   Nicely detailed, including rail, cities, towns, and landforms. $25


Matthews Northrup, 1897-1911, Central America.  Full printed color, about 10 1/2 by 15 inches. A well executed  handsome map with a piano key border, showing the entire Central American region including an inset of The Country around Lake Nicaragua.   Includes rivers, lakes, oceans, landforms,  cities, and towns.  This is a very attractive map. A map known for its attention to detail and accuracy.  A map of choice for many collectors.  $45

George Cram, c. 1899, The Panama Canal. Colored, about 14 by 9 1/2 inches. A detailed map showing the canal, locks, dams and spillways.  It also includes some detail of the surrounding area including  trails in the vicinity.  A note on the map says it was drawn from official data at Culebra, Canal Zone, by William DuBois with permission from the Isthmian Canal Commission.  $35
