A handsome map of Iceland with a decorative title cartouche, and larger decorative cartouches with the title on a large "ribbon". This map is largely based on Teixeira's single sheet map of Tercera from 1582 and a later manuscript map of the whole group of islands. A beautiful map detailing the northern part of the Atlantic including northern Europe, Iceland, Greenland, Frisland, Northeast America, and the Islands surrounding the North Pole. There are less than 300 loose copies in circulation. The map is in excellent condition and will be outstanding when framed. $5000
