Handsome in full color, about 15  by 19 3/4 inches.  A very attractive map of Spain as it was known in the late 1500s.  The map includes a handsome strap-work title cartouche, an attractive scale, two nicely drawn sailing ships and sea monsters. The map is in excellent condition.  $1,250

Handsome in full color, about 15  by 19 3/4 inches.  A very attractive map of ancient Spain, decorated with one large, handsome strap-work title cartouche.  Has great detail of mountains, rivers, towns and cities, also has a stippled ocean which contains two boats and two sea monsters.  About 7,300 of this map were printed of which few remain.  $1000

    Abraham Ortelius, c.1600, Portvgalliae qua olim Lusitania, Novissima & Exactissima Descriptio. Fully and handsomely colored, about 13 1/2 by 20 1/4 inches. An attractive map of Portugal with north orientated to the right. Two large decorative strap-work cartouches. Two ships and a sea monster. Based on Fernando Alverez Secco's two sheet map of Portugal published in 1561. About 7300 maps were published. $1500

This is an attractive map of the Upper Tagus River region, Guipuzcoa, and Cadiz.  $950

Herman Moll, 1756, Portugal. Uncolored, about 10 by 7 inches. A detailed copper plate engraved  map of Portugal printed on rag paper.   Includes the title in a box, and a compass rose.  A well detailed and attractive early map, that provides excellent information about cities, towns, rivers and mountains. $115


S.D.U.K., (Society for The Diffusion Of Useful Knowledge), 1836, Balearic Islands (Iviza, Mallorca and Menorca), Uncolored, about 5 by 6 3/4 inches, A smaller but highly detailed and finely engraved map of these three Balearic islands.  They show landforms, cities and towns. Originally one of several maps on a single sheet.  Has been clipped and laid down on similarly aged paper to provide adequate margins for framing.  Maps of these islands are seldom found.   $50
