    Abraham Ortelius. 1584, Scotiae Tabvla. Later hand color, about 13 3/4 by 18 3/4 inches. A wonderful early map of Scotland, with north orientated to the right. Includes a large decorative title strap-work cartouche, and another small scale cartouche. Nicely detailed including, towns, cities, forests and landforms. A very handsome map. $2,350

  Mercator Hondius, 1606, Scotiae II Tabvla. Original outline color, about 13 3/4 by 18.   This is a very attractive map of northern Scotland.  There is a handsome title cartouche in the top left corner.  There is slight browning at the center fold.  This is a wonderful map that will be outstanding when framed. Together with the map below they provide an entire view of Scotland. $650

Gerard Blaeu, 1639, Gallovidiae Pars Media. Beautiful outline color, about 16 3/4 by 21 1/4.   This is a very attractive map of the Galloway region of Scotland on the western coast.  This is a very handsome map with wonderful detail including cities, towns, forests, mountains, lakes and rivers.  It also includes a bold cartouche and scale at the top of the map. Will be outstanding when framed. $450


Robert du Vaugondy, 1757, Le Royaume De Ecosse (Scotland).  Outline color, about 19 by 22 1/2 inches. A copper plate engraving on rag paper.  Large scale, very handsome, finely engraved, near flawless map with wide margins, of Scotland with a large decorative cartouche at lower left and a set of scales at top right.  The map depicts landforms and includes counties, rail lines, roads, cities and towns. $550

John Tallis, 1860, Edinburgh. Uncolored, about 14 by 20 inches.  A wonderful decorative, and highly detailed city plan which includes six large vignette views of important city buildings and views surrounding the map.  Tallis maps are some of the best known and one of the most desirable of maps. This is due to the very decorative borders, vignette views, and the fact that these maps were one of the last that were engraved on steel. Handsome with excellent detail.   $225

A. J. Johnson, 1864, Scotland. Fully hand colored, about 14 by 11 1/4 inches. A very detailed lithograph of Scotland showing the counties and shires, with an inset of the Shetland Islands and Orkney islands. Names the counties and shows towns, cities, roads rails and landforms.   The map has a repair to the left margin which is almost unnoticeable.  Due to the size of our scanner the whole map is not shown.   $125
