This section has maps, portraits, battle and other scenes, primarily from Frank Leslie's "History of the Civil War" published 1884-1904.  They are supplemented from "Harpers Weekly" published 1861-1865, and other early sources that relate to the war.  If the listed item is not available, please request to be placed on our waiting list.  

 It is difficult to provide a quality image of a woodcut print.  We therefore prefer to send an item out on an approval basis.

Chancellorsville VA.  Located in Spotsylvania County.  Lee and Jackson (Confederates) with a much smaller army outflanked the Union army and swept them before him.  The picture shows Union artillery in foreground firing at Confederate lines at center left with more Union lines at the center right.   5/1/1863

Chancellorsville VA.  A great battle panorama with Hookers Union army at left and foreground.   This picture shows Jackson's army being held after outflanking and then sweeping the whole Union army before him .  Confederates at center and right. 5/3/1863

Chickamauga GA.  A tributary of the Tennessee river located about seven miles from Chattanooga. At Crawfish creek, the Union Army held and pushed back the Confederates.  Shows the Union action on the near side of the creek against and the massed confederates on the far side.  1863
