John Tallis, 1850, Thibet, Mongolia, and Manchouria. Some outline color.  About 9 3/4 by 13 inches.  One of the best portrayals of Tibet, which is in the center of the map and handsomely detailed.  Tallis' maps are some of the best known and one of the most desirable of maps. This is due to the very decorative borders, vignette views, and the fact that these maps were one of the last that were engraved on steel. This map is no exception and includes six vignette views which surround the map.    Handsome with good detail of cities, towns and landforms. $150

S. A. Mitchell.1 c.1860, Hindostan, Further India, China and Tibet. Hand colored, about 11 1/2 by 14 inches.  Has a large and detailed rendering of Tibet.  Shows the different countries, cities and towns. Also includes an attractive decorative border.   Different editions have a slightly different decorative border.   $85
