A seldom seen early map of the island and city of Emowi and the island of Quemowi. Shows small street plan for Emowi, mountains, coastal information and soundings. Title at bottom left. $100
Jacques Nicolas Bellin, 1752, Nanking and Su-tcheou-Fo (Nanking and Suzhow). Uncolored, about 10 1/2 by 8 inches. Two Chinese cities on a single sheet. Each occupying half of the sheet. Shows the city walls and very little internal information due to the fact that these cities were closed to outsiders. The immediately surrounding countryside is also shown. Both have individual titles across the top. $80
S. D. U. K. (Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge), 1838, Siberia and Chinese Tartary. Uncolored with very little outline color. About 12 1/2 by 15 1/2 inches. Covers Korea Mongolia, eastern Tibet and eastern Siberia. These maps are well known for accuracy and immense detail. They represent the best knowledge of the area covered at their time. $50

A. J. Johnson, 1864, China. Colored by province, about 12 1/2 by 15 3/4 inches. This is a wonderful, handsomely colored map of China. The map includes two insets, one of the Island of Amoy and one of Canton. The map has wonderful detail of cities, towns and landforms. Johnson's maps from this series are particularly handsome because they include a handsome decorative border. Different editions have different decorative (but similar) borders. Later editions do not have the insets. $85
The map was scanned in two passes, therefore there is a line across the image and a darkening on the right side that does not appear on the actual map
